Work in progress! A series that examines forest loss via moths. Shot in Peru/Finland. I shot a pair of time-lapse videos in the Pillcopata area in Peru: one next to a primary rainforest edge and another one near a secondary forest edge. The videos show - by highlighting differences between frames - variation in the composition of moths and other insects that arrived to my light lure. While the latter has perhaps more movement/individuals, the diversity of large moths appears greater in the primary rainforest environment. These videos are unfinished and unedited algorithm tests. The photographs are examples that may appear in the series in some form.
